Luxury Homes: Customized to your lifestyle

You are an original, so shouldn’t your home be the same?

Our design/ build team has the same goal as you do: to create a beautiful luxury home that reflects your style and the way you live—with meticulous attention to detail that will stand the test of time. Whether your project involves renovating an older home or design/ build of a new custom home, we will be with you every step of the way. Our design and construction teams work harmoniously and synergistically together to make your dreams become reality. We won’t hand your project off to another architect or contractor. Our goal is to provide a seamless process that starts with the development of your vision and ends with a home built with impeccable quality that combines the best of artistry and engineering.

Our lead designer, Chryssa Wolfe will be intimately involved in every facet of your project’s design so you can trust that every detail will be diligently conceived, regardless of whether your job is large or small. Working in accord with her talented design staff, Chryssa will not only facilitate the conceptual design of your home but will also specify the intricate design details from the vast array of luxury materials, innovative products and fine finishes available on the market today. Our goal is simple: to design and build an original custom home which not only reflects your personal preferences but which also becomes a signature component to your family’s way of life.

Our custom homes and complex renovations have become the envy of the neighborhood in some of DC, MD, and VA’s finest locations. We pride ourselves in maintaining strong relationships with our clients long after the construction of their homes is done. The design/build paradigm is a very personal and intimate process, and we have formed countless memorable relationships throughout the years. We continue to work with some clientele whose original projects were completed decades ago. We have watched these families grow and now are helping the second (and third) generations create their dream homes.

Developing Your Vision

What’s your dream? Is it a one-of-a-kind contemporary-style renovation of your existing home; a stately new Federal-style colonial; a revival of a classic Victorian; or a custom French provincial? Whatever you want, we can make it happen. Take a look at our portfolio and you’ll see that we’ve created homes of many different genres, styles and sizes.

That’s because our work starts with listening. We take the time to learn about you and your life. We understand that the needs of an active family are different from those of empty nesters. When designing a home, we make sure our floor plans, traffic flow and site lines reflect your needs. What good is a massive formal living room for a family with young children? And why create a large master suite on the second floor when the primary residents are empty nesters who want to age in place?

We will design your home in layers: we start with the footprint of the space we have to work with. Then we design how the rooms will fill that footprint—the living spaces, the kitchen, the bedrooms, the baths. We revise and refine as we go, making sure we reflect your desires and the realities of the construction process. And then we make sure that the home’s exterior, from its rooflines to its windows and doors, is integrated into the entire design.

Full Service Design/Build

At Chryssa Wolfe with Hanlon Design Build, we design your home—and we build it. We never hand you off to other architects and contractors who may not understand your ideas and your wants. We’ve assembled a team of some the most talented tradesmen, artisans and craftsmen in the Washington, D.C. area, all of whom pay as much attention to what you see as to what you don’t see.

That means your home’s mechanical systems will be just as meticulously constructed as the custom cabinetry, millwork, tiling and other finishing touches you can see. This is especially important during renovations, when we believe that it is as important to “fix the bones” of a home as it is to give it a new look. What good are new custom built-ins if the walls they are on are not plumb or the heating system behind them is obsolete?

Our team coordinates every day to solve the challenges that inevitably arise on every project. We work hand-in-hand to make sure our homes fulfill both form and function.
